According to Go Nintendo magazine, Trevor Belmont returns for the upcoming Nintendo 3DS game, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow — Mirror of Fate.

The big Nintendo 3DS gossip going around is that there’s a big Nintendo 3DS due to be announced tomorrow.
On the eve of Nintendo’s E3 press conference, Japanese newspaper Nikkei — which is usually spot-on with its rumors about Nintendo consoles — says the company will announce a 3DS system with a 4.3 inch screen tomorrow.
That’s 1.5 times bigger than the current 3DS’s screen, and also .3-inch larger than the DSi XL’s display. I wouldn’t be surprised if Nintendo took advantage of the extra space to add an extra Circle Pad and a bigger battery, too.
Nikkei reports that the new 3DS model will release across all major territories as soon as this summer.

Limited edition Kingdom Hearts 3DS hitting Japan with Dream Drop Distance in March (click for larger image).
It looks a lot like the patterned Kingdom Hearts DSi released in Japan back in 2009, but the system’s glossy finish and the magenta crown give it a lot more “pop.” I would actually consider buying this — if I was a dude resigned to buying all the expensive Kingdom Hearts junk out there, and if the console weren’t region-locked.

The teaser site for Square Enix’s bizarre 3DS rhythm-game spinoff Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy reveals the developer of the project as Indies Zero, not Jupiter as was rumored.
While a new Final Fantasy-related game by the team behind The World Ends With You would serve to drive many fans’ current bemusement with the game into burning desire, the attachment of Indies Zero to the project does a lot more to attract me (and, I’m sure, Eric) as Indies Zero is responsible for the two Retro Game Challenge games (and, uh, Personal Trainer: Cooking and the recent DualPenSports).
The site also features a nice remix of the classic Final Fantasy theme, and the unbelievably adorable logo seen above. Now Square Enix just has to do something about the name, and I’ll be able to declare my interest in the rhythm-based RPG without shame!

No save data reset for Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D. I remember a couple guys mentioning this issue on Twitter when the game released in Japan, and apparently it’s also in the U.S. version, according to the manual.
There’s speculation that Capcom deliberately made it impossible for users to delete their save data to discourage used game sales — since those who buy Mercenaries 3D used can’t wipe the save and start over from the beginning, some Japanese shops will only pay very low prices (as low as $6!) for pre-played copies.
So, it sounds like it’s working for Capcom in Japan at least. But it’s not a great way to reward the fans who just dropped $40 on your game…

What the fuck
Adooooooorable plush alpaca. Natsume revealed this today as the pre-order bonus for the DS/3DS Harvest Moon: The Tale of Two Towns, due out this summer. And… well, I was already thinking that it was about time for me to try a Harvest Moon game…
The company hasn’t said which retailers will be offering this pre-order bonus. And stores haven’t come forward either, proving they don’t want my money.

3DS skins from Gametech’s WaSaBi series. These are actually plastic stickers that cover the 3DS, rather than being the real fabric used in most WaSaBi accessories, but they provide the same look.
Each one costs ¥1,260 ($15) and includes skins for both the outside and inside of the 3DS unit. I can’t imagine wanting to cover the shiny exterior of the 3DS, but there are worse ways to do so if you are looking for external decoration.
